My wife is flying home today and was going to borrow a car of a friend. This has just fallen over so Im looking for someone to rent her a car . Or maybe a dealer will sell us something with a guaranteed buy back price.Looked at rental car companies but all there cheapies are gone.West Auckland would be preferable.Looking for a good safe reliable , unmodified 4 cyl with good rubber.

maybe buy a $1000 car and cruise round in that. buy something that is easy to sell. must be plenty of options in auckland area

If you buy a $1000 car now, it wont be too hard to sell it again in 3 weeks for the same amount you paid for it.

All the rental companies have cars advertised from $20 per day but they never have them available. Thinking arount $500 for the three weeks. We will fully insure it , My wife is 50 plus with a good driving history and will be the only driver until I join her on the 17th.

When my daughter comes back to NZ for a couple weeks R&R, this is what I would do. I would probably put it back on Trademe with $1 reserve. Still makes it a cheap rental.
