I was in the same huge lines of traffic in my MR2.
Had a few chuckles when the speed camera van in the middle of no where snapped the dickheads in SUVs towing trailers at 110km/h+
Actually all the cars I saw pulled over by the 5-0 either had trailers or had the children's bikes on the back.

7 hours to drive to queenstown thursday after work. 8 and a half today to come home, reason, cars doing 70-80-90 and not pulling over when there was room for them to do so.

what is the issue, is it that they are driving slower, or that they will not pull over for traffic wanting to go faster than they are ignorance or arrogance!, if ignorant they should not be on the road, if arrogant they should not be on the road, how hard is it to keep left and pull over to allow others to go through

My annoyance is with the driver who clearly thinks they are a good driver, so goes 105km/h (or more) on the straights, but as soon as a bend appears they are doing 70km/h, when my 27 year old Corolla doesn't even need to slow down.

On a couple of occasions while driving a truck and trailer I have pulled over to let traffic pass and actually had to walk back and ask the driver of the car behind me to carry on. Both times there was plenty of room to get through but the drivers just sat there and stared blankly at the back of my trailer. It seems to me like a lot of people grab the steering wheel and stop thinking.

Needed that cop in the gorge on the way back from Gisborne- 6 cars behind him, multiple pull over areas and the idiot in a Safari towing a trailer didn't use any of them. To make matters worse, the Commodore following him turned out to be 'in his convoy' which made passing pretty much impossible until he finally pulled over and let the cars through.

on another note, traveling back from wanaka over the crown range yesterday we had about ten cars infront of us and everyone of them appeared to be competent drivers and traffic flowed over the more challenging road very very well. I was surprised and impressed for a change.
