2009 Yamaha Scorpio - Turn the fuel pecock off?

ilottl, May 3, 8:13am
The manual recommends that when parked turn it off, can someone confirm this is correct or is this for storage over long periods of time!

Dunno about that model specific, but I have always switched the fuel off on all my bikes.

yes turn off that way if carb starts to leak there wont be a mess and if bike gets knocked over fuel wont leak out.

Thanks, new to motorbikes so will get in the habit.

Ilottl --look at the fuet tap -if it has on/reserve/off then definitely turn it off. If it has on/reserve/prime then definitely do NOT do anything.
the tap looks the same but the effect is exactly the oposite

Petcock.

Make sure the tank is full and battery disconnected (or on a maintenance charger, but preferably both) before parking it up.
