lady71, May 6, 7:04am
you still need a car license for a 50cc bike

tonyrockyhorror, May 6, 7:05am
That's never been the case in my lifetime.

casper35, May 6, 7:25am
As long as you have a car licence you can ride scooters up to 50cc.

kaymay88, May 6, 7:27am
you can ride a 50cc scooter on a learners car licence.

russ39, May 6, 7:41am
so if you havnt got a current license you cant ride anything 50cc or less with a motor!bugger

no reg required on them, as they are under 300w

noswalg, May 6, 8:12am
Not that one, it's less than 300w has a top speed of less than 50km/h which makes it a "power assisted pedal cycle"

kcf, May 6, 8:29am
50kph has got nothing to do with anything

300 watts will be lucky to get you to 20k, considering that mopeds with 2000 watts barely hit 50k.

mantagsi, May 6, 8:38am
I did read somewhere that the average cyclist can output somewhere in the range of 250 - 400 watts, and I know that even in my unfit state I can *well* exceed 20kph - with a bit of luck that 300w motor would go faster but the first sign of a hill I bet she'd be all over though :P

motorboy2011, May 6, 9:16am
thats because by law they are not supposed to be able to go over 50kph.
