The odd thing about that is quite a number got up and run off lol, wonder how many died shortly after.You would almost think it was safer to be tossd out of the car, mind you speeds would be a bit slower but still.

Yep, some of those old cars were pretty damn quick. They had an old 1950's maserati on Top Gear, 270bhp from a 2.5litre engine, 0-100kph in under 5 seconds. http://www.youtube.com/watch!v=bkO8y3AxRps You've gotta take your hat off to the drivers - fast car - but no roll cage, crap brakes and crap tyres.
