'88 Isuzu Rodeo repower

It's going to be easiest and cheapest to find out whats wrong with the pump first, and get it repaired, no doubt the injectors are probably in need of attention too.Is the engine in OK condition otherwise, have compression or leakdown tests been done on it!Apart from doing the thing up at huge expense if the above tests prove its too worn or finding another identical one thats good, another option might be fitting a2.8 motor out of a '90's model, whether these just bolt in or not I don't know.

OK thats a different story then if its got damage, yes start looking for another motor!Unless fitting something like a TD27 Nissan engine and box was a feasible option you'd be best to just stick with another Isuzu I'd say, there aren't any other similar sized Jap diesels that are any better than what you have.
