Best Products to use when washing cars?

korban, Jul 3, 8:05pm
What products/cloths do you recommend!

I normally just wash with a brush and let the car drip dry.

Thanks

i use turtlewax ice. and i dry it off with a $10 chamois(however its spelt).
that does a good job. and yes of course water
wouldnt mind trying out the expensive chamois though im just too stingey to pay $30 for one.

It depends on the vehicle I am working on.

If it's filthy and covered in mud, I give it a high pressure squirt with the hose, then a good soap up with a soft brush or sponge.

We use Pacer Grape Wash or XT88 for liquid soap.

If the vehicle is mint or I have just cut and polished it all over, I just use straight water and a clean sponge.

Soap can strip your polish/wax off and make you angry LOL.

a topless girl is the best product to have washing your car

i use armour all wash n wax, it works pretty well, along with water and a soft brush ofcoarse. i only wash my car in the shade to prevent streaking.

XT88 for vehicle/truck wash. Seems to be the best all purpose stuff around. I bought my last 5L pack from here on Trademe for $35 incl delivery to your door which is pretty sweet. Awesome service from Alan at XT88 too.

I just had a mate order and use xt88 from what was aid on here, He was impressed and so was I. he said it ate brake dust with out even scrubbin. and left a good shine. But use only as directed only.

Yep.

It's very good soap.

I hope so - just hit Buy Now - and paid for it.

It's good stuff.

If the car is real dirty, then use twice the standard dose.

If it is mint then use about a third of the recommended dose.

I've got one of those Mothers Microfibre cloths, and they really suck the water off afterwards.

I have found Pro-Ma Wash & Wax excellent. Also Ultimate Car Wash from a trader on here "sls" is really good. Very concentrated so a little bit goes a long way.

Yep.

I have never used it, but can imagine it to be good.

Lots of good soap wash on the market these days.

I use Meguiars Ultimate wash and wax, and a chamois but could be swayed towards whynots suggestion.

spead, Jul 4, 2:49am
water and a bit of scrubbing. nothing else.

stevo2, Jul 4, 2:55am
I also use Meguiars and apply it with one of those washing mitts that you wear. they are great. Easy to use and saves a bit on suds as well.

Have only ever used dishwashing liquid. wash and rinse a couple of panels at a time.

This will strip the wax off you do realize, it is very abrasive.
