I bet he is gutted.I owned one of those in the early 70s,mk 166'.I remember i couldn't sell it as they were only another car at the time.I did sell it for $2700 ,but wished i had kept it,now worth $60.000 in mint cond. The problem is they will probably take it for a joyride and trash it ,not knowing what it is,scumbags, lowlifes.I hope he finds it in one piece, they are real collector items now.

What else did you expect! It's the colour they have to be.
Scumbags need hanging!

Good luck in getting it back. Wish I still had my 1968 GT MK2, I sold for $1600 30 years ago, but not in the same league I know.

$ 60,000 would be a minimum price ! to be honest, if i owned something like that it would be under lock and key and i be buggered if i took it any where except to special events. and i'd make sure it had cunning immobilizers and one of those gps thingies ! jez bill that's bloody bad luck mate i hope they get the fb yeah, and i wish i'd kept my s4lotus super seven, darn it

The gold flash would have been repainted

Do a flyover of the Hokianga area.
Maybe also the Kaitaia area.
It's probably being used a a paddock-basher in the areas.
Good luck to the owner -- I hope karma comes back to take the thief's genitals.

Probably in a shipping crate marked 'tomatoes' by now, heading to the middle east.

What I meant was 'it's the best colour for them'
poppajn,
Jul 4, 8:51pm
According to the factory registrar, it,s the only colour they came out in. Anything else is a respray.
movnon,

doubt if the color makes them go faster or slower lol.

That's what I thought - but wasn't 100% sure. Would not have been game enough to argue against Brit Racing Green tho.

Sad, but those types of vehicles should never be left unattended. It was probably just the pretty colours the thieves were attracted by.
lookoutas,
Jul 7, 7:45am
You can't put them in cotton-wool either.
newtec1,
Jul 7, 8:06am
No you can't but you can take all the precautions available to stop these scumbags. You can still see some of them racing on the track, not that i would put a classic like that in danger of being munted, but some do.

I keep checking here hoping to see that it's been found undamaged. Surely can't be an easy car to on-sell without anyone noticing!
