Take GOOD photos in a clear, open space. Take interior, exterior and engine bay pics, maybe even the boot too. If you're selling it on here, you get 20 free photos, use them!
Do this after it's groomed lol
Be realistic with your price
Be careful with the wording in your ad. Too many people word it with too much emotion. You're selling a car, not a love story.
I'm sure other people have suggestions too

Almost wishing had taken totally crap offer of trade in now. Time wasters and hassles selling private. AH! Have extremely reasonable price on it. Fingers crossed. Guess have to wait till someone wants it as much asI did!

Clean it inside and out and tell the truth. How may cars high priced cars do you see for sale with a handful of photographs taken with foggy cellphone or such like. If someone can't be arsed and maketing their product then it shows how they looked after the vehicle.

For goodness sake make sure the registered ownership gets changed over, this means both of you going down to the postshop or VTNZ or wherever and doing it, or them bringing back a printout from one of these places BEFORE they uplift the car or if the transaction is taking place after hours, on your computer with your credit card if they haven't got one. This is equally important with very cheap cars as well as more expensive ones, you need to be 100% sure of this, do NOT rely on promises from buyers that they will do it at their convenience.
