Freelance mechanic p/h price? how much do u think?

Hi. I had a mechanic whose out of work come to my place today. he did a full sercive on my truck and 3/4 of the way installed a complicated cd/dvd player with reversing camera. he found out my 24 to 12v converter was dodgy so he wont finish till i buy a new one. he bought all his own tools and took away the old oil etc. what do you think this is worth per hour! he did 6 hours and charged me 30$ an hour: 180$ is this too expensive!

$180 would get you less than 2 hours labour at most dealer franchises.

Surely you asked him how much he charged before employing him! so you obviously thought his charge out rate was OK before the job was started. Why ask now!
