Car advice

i am looking to buy a new car. if something is advertised for $15k at a dealer is it cheeky to offer less or do they expect it!my current car was advertised at $13k 3 yrs ago and I paid $10k cash privately.

Also I am having trouble putting a price on my current car. any advice bar looking as it's a nice version with lower kms, if I put it on higher is it like a house where the interest will be over quickly if the price is wrong!

the interest will be over quickly if you don't mention what make of car, year, km's etc

They expect you to haggle, they love it when you don't as it is more profit for them

coastie123456, Jul 24, 6:51am
do you have any idea how much i could haggle! is $13k offering on a $15k car cheeky or OK! I dont want to p.ss the person off if its a car i really want lol

fryan1962, Jul 24, 6:56am
It is all a game.if you dont want to p. them off pay full price

they have rent to pay lights wages

If you wanted to sell your car to them do you think they would care about your feelings when making an offer

I asked a dealer if he wanted to buy my f100 he offered me low price and said,That he got offered 5 a week I said great ill take the next two.that shut him up

babcorp, Jul 24, 7:10am
Why not haggle! It's your $$$$.
Last two vehicles I'vebought $1k less than asking prices.

icemans1, Jul 24, 7:13am
only a fool would pay full price from a dealer - they add on extra for people to haggle. buying at the end of the month is best

albid, Jul 24, 7:52am
Don't let them know you really want the car as that is playing into their hands. Don't let them know the bottom dollar you'll pay.

it's nearly the end of the month. any idea on what mines worth! blonde female driver here clueless

Where's Kaz when you need him!

coastie123456, Jul 24, 8:43am
considering a dealer offered me $5500 as a trade in i hardly think it is worth only $2k-$5k :)

fryan1962, Jul 24, 9:02am
look what others are selling for on here for. that is called doing your homework

edangus, Jul 24, 9:05am
If they offered that, I would take it. Not trying to be a smart ass either. You can buy a lot of car these days for $5,500. Not a lot of buyers out there with that sort of folding.

To be honest, if you like the car keep it for a few more years. Save the money and have a wee trip away.
