even if that happened the day after purchace dealer should not pay. Purchacer should bring the car back to the dealer first.

Cat D warranty on that = No warranty

that would only apply if the originalowner wanted the car back.plus any other cars that were sold in the vicinity at that time

have a freind who gave up being a stealer in auckland because he got sick of paying maintanance for the life of the car. he said denying them what they think is there right is impossible when the individual doesnt care much for the law

Ok lets change this a little bit
Ok someone buys a10 year oldVW Golffrom a car stealer (dealer) with 40000km on the clock
Happiness filled they are and own the car for 18 months and 31000km trouble free.(71k in total)but then pop goes the head gasket.
They rip along to their local spanner man who says $3000 to rebuild your engine propperly or we can toss a second hand one in for $1500 but the second hand one has a 3 month warranty on it.
They opt for the second hand engine.
Then they wait a month after the engine is fitted and call into the stealer. They don't want the stealer to pay for the replacement engine they had fitted.
What they want is for a reconditioned engine tobe fitted into the car as the engine they organised to be fitted feels rougher than a golf normally doesand idles funnyer than a golf normally does .

So who pays and how much in this situation!

They dont just blow a head gasket for no reason, must have been run out of water or had a water pump with a plastic impellor fail. The water pump should have been replaced at the same time as the cambeltwhich probably hasnt been done because of the low km when it should have been done at least twice by now so therefor they havent serviced it at the dealer should not have to pay

The user pays all, and if not happy with the 2nd hand one then return it to them to fix

I'll stick to my originalcomment (o:

They could take it back to whoever fitted the engine and get it checked. Still not the dealers problem
