Check the mobil lubricant website as it is quite helpful

Yip, Castrol and Penrite (and no doubt others) have "lube guide's" as well. You just enter the car in the box and it looks it up.

they told me to run 5w30 i think thats a bit thin for a 120ks sub anyone think 10w40 would be good! full synthetic of course, if so how many litres exzactly 4 2002 gt sub!

I'd possibly look more at a 10w30 but 10w40 should be fine as well.

Delo 40 sounds good to me; after all it's a subby.LOL

Its a modern car . If the manufacturer recommends that oil, that is the oil it should have. all the tolerances inside the engine etc will all be set up for that grade of oil.

moderate climate (ie NZ) 10w40 semi synthetic.

From my experience (28yrs Mobil Oil) I can tell you the Engine manufacturers tell the Oil company what viscosity oil is required. So if a 5w-30w oil is recommended then it will most likely have very fine oilways & hence 5 weight will circulate on start up just that bit faster. Zero degrees for a car having sat outside all night is not "a moderate temperature" and if itssay a 20 weight oil then the oil pump is going to be having a hernia trying to get it around the engine. cheers . P.S. decent oil is the cheapest insurance you will get !
