pebbles61, Aug 28, 6:13pm
It's not that bad really, but a lot of people bleat on about how great Jappas are etc, not my cup of tea, but each to their own aye _b

whqqsh, Aug 28, 6:24pm
when you pass someone on the inside where do you go. the 'inside lane'
& when you pass on the outside youre on the outside lane
Why is it recently that ppl think the left lane is outside!

taipan4, Aug 28, 6:33pm
recently sold a camry with 183000 on it to a guy who had driven his 400000km camry to a wrecker in chch & drove the one I sold him back to Dunedin, oh & he was using it for a taxi.

BINGO- In london its a clattery diesel thing. In japan its a nisan laurel with an electric rear door. I actually thought the germans used diesel mercs.
Auzzie uses fords (lpg powered)

All my courier deliveries arrive in the morning via completely unreliable Toyota Hiace vans . . . without exception, I ruethe day couriers start driving euros.

countrypete, Aug 28, 7:31pm
One of the couriers who calls on us each day owns a mercedes 140 van.But he often drives a hiace that he rents when the merc is being "fixed".

whqqsh, Aug 28, 7:33pm
so who's confused!

trogedon, Aug 28, 7:34pm
A few years ago there was an old guy taxi driver here in West Akld who had a Vauxhall Velox taxi. Ok, maybe 10 - 15 years ago. When I was a kid I got a ride in a Ford Cortina taxi. They're Euros right!!

pebbles61, Aug 28, 7:36pm
yep lol

countrypete, Aug 28, 7:37pm
Hey I remember riding in that vauxhall, from the airport into town. What a hoot! (and I think it was closer to 20 years ago.)

andy61, Aug 28, 7:39pm
The 1800 used way too much oil between engine rebuilds

bignzer1, Aug 28, 7:42pm
Totally agree with you

msigg, Aug 28, 7:45pm
They need reliability, thats the only reason they shy away from euro's. The prius is the cheapest taxi to run. Go talk to the . they know, its there buisness.

mm12345, Aug 28, 7:47pm
You I think. The outside lane is the slow lane.

pebbles61, Aug 28, 7:48pm
Not changing the oil often enough me thinks lol. Every 6 months or every 6000 miles.

10.5 pints off the top of my head

cowlover, Aug 28, 7:51pm
We need to import a fleet of Hindustan Ambassadors from India and paint them pink for a national taxi fleet.Or maybe some rickshaws so that our import population feel right at home!

extrayda, Aug 28, 7:55pm
Trogedon - Blue Vauxhall Velox! I remember that too.

mm12345, Aug 28, 7:57pm
+1
I have (talked to them). It's a slam dunk.Last one I went in (Wgtn) had done 450,000km, on original batteries, uses bugger-all fuel, plenty of room for 4 passengers plus driver - or a passenger or two on an airport run with a heap of luggage.Horrible cars (IMO) for most of us, but the closest thing to a perfect taxi in NZ.

trogedon, Aug 28, 7:58pm
Yep, dark blue. Good looking car.

markthesparky, Aug 29, 5:46am
Don't forget the 57 chevys that they kept on building till the late 70's that the americans use to use

kazbanz, Aug 29, 5:50am
Which if our couries experience is anything to go by is regularly

splinter67, Aug 29, 5:53am
dont you mean 55 chevrolet57s were not used as taxis

mm12345, Aug 29, 6:45am
If he meant NYC Checker cabs, he probably should have meant neither.
