How do they do it in the factory!Took me 6 hours to do a full respray on two tone triton today (done others) and was wondering how it was done, surely they dont hand mask it all but also can't see a robot doin it either.
Anyone know!

Are you talking new! Painted in parts and then assembled.
Used and refurbished!A team of people maybe.

Yep, new. Seen heaps of video of one colour but not two tone, so was wondering how they done it.

Bloody good question, did a little snuffling around on google, no joy but then again didn't look that hard.

It has to be hand masked but probably with pre-cut masking and possibly pre-cut tape sections for the tricky bits. Plastic wrap would be mandatory of course.

Yea but for 50000 in a row! or however many they paint. Prob some easy as trick to it.

There must be a few tricks like foam cut outs to fit inside door jambs etc, they aren't going to paint them in bits.

with all the things robots are capable of now days, surely masking shouldn't be that hard for them!

Having thought about it, you're right. There must be robots capable of it.

Often, two-tone cars have the colour change happen behind a trim-piece, so the masking can be very rough.
