It's oil so must be motoring. My rotahoe specs a HP90 oil for the gearbox/diff/drive unit.AFAIK its a brass wormdrive system. Is HP90 the same as EP90!If not who makes/sells a HP90!

Basically the same HP= High pressure EP= extreme pressure
These days I short cut a few issues by going with a multi grade such as 75/90 Partly depends on usage duration & load ratings

Bit more digging (pun intended) and it looks like it wants a API-GL1.Is that as hard to find as I think it might be!

Oil company depot shop.or truck stop might be a better bet then any retail outlet

I would have some reservations about using an EP GL5 if there are brass gears. Google "EP oils and Brass" then make your own decision. I would keep looking for a GL1 oil.

I see some of the old tractor guys run a 20/50 engine oil instead of GL-1.Lots of old gearboxs used an engine oil.Maybe it would be OK.Some motorbikes use GL-1 so maybe a bike dealer!

Be careful. the moderns oils have additives that will react with the brass,,,, use what is specified
