And further to this. I got rear ended a few weeks ago by a silly woman in a BMW coupe, almost dead sure she was texting at the time. Ran up the back of my Falcon ute and shunted me almost ten metres into the back of a Corolla, lots of damage to the Corolla and wrote off her BMW, not a lot of damage to my ute. There is no way she could have hit me if she had been looking where she was going.
Amusing for me, but if it had been a cyclist or a group of children she had hit rather than the big towbar on the back of my ute the outcome would have been horrific

Had a slightly different close call a few weeks ago. Dude was running as fast as he could across 4 lanes of traffic (2 lanes each way) while STILL holding a cell ph to his ear & you could see he was yakking flat out. Another was a chick with an Mp3 player crossing a busy road in town & adjusting something on the player, stepped off the kerb, looked up & straight back down to the player & carried on walking across IN the traffic.
See a lot step straight out on ped crossings like that but don't even bother to look up at all
