gidday folks my trusty work horse has sprung a diesel leak around the underside of the injector pump ,it leaks when the engine is running , has anyone seen or had the same prob! and what did you do to fix it !

you need to find out where around the pump its leaking from. That will tell you if its a pump off job or can be done in place.

Check connections its a bugger to get spanner on undo the pipe nut and do the other connection bolt up, it maybe dribblng from there and look like it is coming from under the pump

thanks for the advice guys ,a mate suggested it could be coming from th engine(back) side of the pump ,theres a small ovalplate with two 10mm bolts that has a o ring behind it he reckons the o ring could be be the prob and to replace it as the heat has prob got to it if so diesel can leak from there it looks like a prick to get at !

Either that or the top housing seal might be leaking. I have put top housing seals and throttle shaft seals in many with good results but to do the job properly you should pull the pump and do the drive seal as well. Give it a good clean then before starting cover the pump with talcum powder. Start and keep a good eye on the pump using a good light. You will see a trace in the powder where the leak in coming from.
