CVT : does it needs its own search criteria?

Been shopping for small late model cars and found its not that easy to split the Autos from the CVT's.
Is it time we had Manual, Auto and CVT as the search options!
No idea why we can search Tiptronic cars on their own and not CVT.

Any thoughts!

They should just remove the tiptronic option.

I'll bet a lot of sellers don't know or care what the details of their transmission are.

OP, Manual is manual, but Autos may be conventional epicyclic boxes, dual clutch, or CVT. All but manuals may have "tip-tronic" actuation. I do agree with you that autos should specify what type they are (conventional, double clutch or CVT) and if they are "tip-tronic".

cvt should be its own criteria. they are different enough to warrant it. and for people who know what they are and want to avoid them should be able to do it.
Tip tronic is not a gearbox type.its a way of controlling the gearbox. tiptronic means NOTHING in real terms.its the mechanics underneath that counts.

+1 for CVT search/listing criteria
