What cars had/have illuminated emblems! The only one I can think of at the moment is the old Wolseley. When the headlights turned on the badge lit up.
Have put an illuminate badge (purchased from TM) on my Maxima and my son mentioned that not many cars had illuminated car emblems as standard.

Some Toyota Starlets had a little 'GT' badge at the back that would glow green at night, thats all I can think of off of the top of my head.

Oh I do remember seeing some fancy car with a light-up bonnet emblem, I am sure it was factory. I am going to be random and guess Pierce-Arrow! I don't know, it was one of the oldies. I can't remember anything anymore

A number of Z32 300ZX had the illuminated rear centre panel with "300zx" lit up.

I'm pretty sure one of the 80s or 90s prelude had an illuminated "Prelude" in the middle of the boot lid.

Also maybe the new Rolls Royce with the pop-up Spirit of Ecstasy!

All Wolseley's had an illuminated badge on the grill.
I had a couple of them back in the 1970's good old cars too at the time.

I think they started in the late 20s or early 30s using the illuminated badge, but used them on every car until the end (including the 18-22 Wedge). I have a 1970 Wolseley and I quite enjoy my little badge!

They sure did almost their entire life span from way back until the last ones produced as you say. The badges on my 2 Wolseley's both lit up when head lamps were turned on, I liked that little detail as well.
16/60 and 6/110 Mk2 were the ones I had both 1967-8.

'Its name up in lights' was a Wolseley advertising slogan once upon a time bit of a give away for when they got used as Police cars.

See a few 6/110s up on here every once in a while. They look lovely. I have a 18/85 myself.

My old mx 1.8 corona had little green plastic things on top of the front wings above the headlights connected by a fibreoptic cable, that lit up when the lights were on to show me where the car ended hahahaha

ema1, Oct 21, 10:34am
I once had a 1990 Toyota CrestaLX80 that had those front guard markers on it and also a 1990 Toyota MS137 Crown that had those as well, yellow colour on both my Cresta and Crown. Both were lit by fibre optic cable from side/park lamps.
Gave good indication where the front extremities of those cars were while driving at night.

Was thinking badges like this one. on the front bonnet/grill.it shows the make of car.I know some had lights on stalks etc to mark the corners of the cars.

I drilled out the back of my morry minor badge on the boot and fitted a lamp connected to the brake signal. The red plastic of the logo then was illuminated as a sort of high level brake light.

fred-a, Oct 29, 6:59pm
