Well my 1991 Toyota Cynos (red), manual. Someone who I thought was a mate and was trustworthy and honest bought the car of me but hasn't fully paid for it yet. How do I go about getting the car back of finding out if he/the car is still in town or out in Pirongia! I want to report it stolen, is this my the besy option for getting an answer or atleast getting it back, with no refund or do i have to involve the police!

Not stolen. This is a civil matter, not a Police one.

unfortunately they are correct, nothing police can do, they will tell you to take itto small claims court. If you are still in contact with the person one thing you could do is bluff it and say it has been reported as stolen and will be until they either pay up or give it back.

If you can contact him, it wont hurt to tell him you are going to the cops.

Has ownership been changed over! If not you could put reg on hold meaning if he gets caught by police it'd be flagged as not meant to be on the road.
