Iv got a 5 speed in my Capri. And don't know if its a problem, but when it's cold it's pretty notchy to get into gear. Although I'm told it's a common problem.

It seems too me that the gear lever fork breaks before it will go into gear and so these gearboxes are crap

I have used a type 9 in my race for over 10 years, only problem ever had was 3rd and 4th syncros cracking. including 2 targas

Ok so my type 9 gearbox has trouble getting into 3rd4th and reverse . . . does this indicate that the syncros are definately stuffed !
