Engine size?

I'm looking at Suzuki swifts.
One isa 2005 model with a 1300cc. The other is a 2011 model with 1200cc.
Is the 2011, 1200cc model going to have no guts!

they will both be very ordinary

Test drive both and go from there. Only you can decide on your version of 'guts'.

100c won't be much of a difference.

goon carjam and type in reg numbers, it should say how many kws they have each. i would get a 1.5 or 1.6 sport if you want guts but a bit of an oxy moron in a swift between a 1.2 or 1.3

too many other variables in an engine to say whether a 1200cc or 1300cc is going to be more powerful

Those would both be Jap domestic market base models. The base engine in NZ was 1.5, now 1.4 litre. You would be better off with one of those.

Had one as a loaner not much of a car gutless and not very economical

The 1240cc with CVT trans is a bit underpowered, but can get over 20km/litre.

only buy manual cars. and test drive them all . the new 1.2 swift is suposed to have good fuel economy , if its true or not i dont know We got a 1.2 dacia in europe and it goes 120kph on the motorway up hills fully loaded and does 60 miles to the gallon only cars i have found in nz that are suposedly close to this are new kia picanto , holdon berina and the small engine new suzuki with close to 60mpg petrol fuel consumption on paper.

That's a Splash, not a Swift. The Swift is a bigger car, and the NZ versions come in 1.4 or 1.6 litre versions.
