Is it a Suzuki or a Yamaha?. Looking for a starter motor for what i thought was a suzuki sr250 1978 yep 1978any clues would help

Looking for a starter motor for what I thought was a Suzuki SR250 1978! Yep, 1978.Any clues would help, although the motorbike dealer informed me its a Yamaha.She goes well and is worth the conversation, help!

SR250 is Yamaha, similar to Suzuki GN250.
(Unless Suzuki also made something different called an SR250).
Yamaha made thre SR250, Suzuki made the GN250.Suzuki never made a model starting with "SR".

You may find the early Suzuki & Yamaha could have the same starter motor. I know with early jet ski's Kawasaki & Yamaha do. This could explain why the dealer is telling you it's a Yamaha.
