Very good, I'm assuming you are talking about off road use.!
If so, in low range 4WD mode it will lack descent control. Which in itself is not a problem once you master the left foot braking [you gently apply the brake with your left foot (and keep it there) and use the accelerator to over ride the brakes].

20 years ago, I would not dreamt of having and auto 4 X 4. Now, I would not even consider buying a manual for off-road use. The only proviso would be the addition of an auxillary oil cooler for the transmission for heavy duty usage or towing,

What they lack on downhill control, autos more than make up for in climbing and negotiating rocks etc. a torque converter is brilliant for creeping.

Yep, I too prefer autos for off road use. Much easier.
