hardly ever fires on its own, with ether etc ok, no smoke runs ok generally
once going. Plug and gap please. Likely '80's model. Pre-mix, with pull start.
CIA.

Are you using the choke correctly!

Try a new plug 1st.

Are you using fresh fuel each time or is it fuel from "last time"! The fuel we get here is not the highest quality and has a tendency to go stale quite quickly especially in warmer weather and when mixed with the 2 stroke oil. While it may run OK once started, the stale fuel will be difficult to get it to fire up on when cold as it is not volatile enough. You also need to consider running engine out of fuel when finished so as not to leave any residue in the carburettor to cause the same problem.

There's no need to gap them - factory gapped.Price should be about $7 each.
There's a champion equivalent - completely hopeless - don't go there.
