If you can still take a corner, you're not going fast enough. - Old drag racing quote .

My best was nearly 130mph on a Pommy motorway, was creeping up faster but kept meeting traffic! Kawasaki Z1000J

Here are the links to the Ghost Rider videos. The French call him the Black Prince. He rode this in around 1989, in morning traffic too.

Usual edit, 6 minutes:

Your loss then.

plasticboys, Mar 11, 1:32am
just hit 300 on a 750 superbike . wont say where l did it

gunhand, Mar 11, 1:41am
There are very few production bikes (unmodified/stock) that will do a genuine 300kph and all of them seem to be 1000cc and over. What 750 can do this! its not one ive read about as yet. Is it a race bike or some such thing!

a.woodrow, Mar 11, 1:45am
Maybe 105 on my gn250 with a tailwind and my chin on the handlebars. Somewhat faster on a friends vtr1000 but tbh I didn't thinkt to look at the speedo

wrong2, Mar 11, 1:50am
well that not Ghost Rider - nor is it morning traffic

the BP video is arguably the most famous (amongst motorcyclists) & it was one of the inspirations behind the Ghost Rider efforts

legend has itBP killed himself making another video

wrong2, Mar 11, 1:51am
& he was riding a K model GSXR1100,

it had the maximum 1340 overbore piston kit with race carbs / extractor

desmodave, Mar 11, 1:57am
Yes i would tidy the shed up a bit to make room for 1 of those. Took a Bmw k1200s for a blast awhile back and was impressed with the way it got along. Theowner was impressed that the chicken strips came back smaller.

desmodave, Mar 11, 2:03am
I guess its just something im gunna have to live with. You had a mc that you could ride once didn't ya.

sas777, Mar 11, 2:40am
I mentioned Ghost Rider as he is mentioned in previous posts, not realising he was a later copy cat. I have always known the guy in the video to be called the Black Prince.

Sure looks like morning traffic to me

sas777, Mar 11, 2:43am
He's still alive.

a very hot ex mat mladin world superbike engine . my dyno can read kph and at 1200 rpm in top is 300k and thats whatit did on the road

austingtir, Mar 11, 3:16am
Me maxed out my prilia rs250 once not 100% sure how fast as i was to shit scared hanging on and watching what i was doing. It was plenty fast for me on a bike though.

Heres the words from a guy I know that was in the submarine core (aussie) this guy now has a busa also which he's turbocharging so he's obviously a complete maniac. He would probably daily hover the 300kph mark on his way out to the navy base each morning in darwin on the gixxer.

Starts here:(he's back in perth)
I came home from a three month trip away at sea and went on the ride organised by work for the first weekend. I left home on a beautiful Saturday morning and met the 8 other riders at a local servo. I suggested a route I normally did myself through some rural roads up to the Perth hills. It is an easy ride and only moderately fun but unfortunately Perth roads are pretty bland. Off we went with me in the lead and 7 other Jap superbikes and BMW's behind me. It wasn't long before I found out that my favourite stretch of straight road now had a roundabout on it. I tried to stop my bike from the top of 4th (at least 160kph) to go around the roundabout less than 150m from the corner I'd just rounded but it didn't go so well for me. I can remember thinking "damn, I'm dead".

wrong2, Mar 11, 3:18am
its the Paris ring road & he filmed it during the evening rush for greater effect in the video (busy traffic) & to keep down the chance of the cops being able to chase him

he was interviewed by french TV after the video came out, but during the early double-0's othermotorcycle websites tried to get a hold of him & failed - fueling the speculation that he had killed himself

Continued:
Fortunately I was wearing all the good stuff at the time. I rooted my $1k helmet, my leathers, my boots, my back protector and my gloves but I was still alive. I had a broken wrist, 3 broken ribs and felt like I had been violated by the All Blacks. I was home from hospital the next day with a plaster cast and some AWESOME pain meds. I can honestly see how people can get hooked on the stuff because I had nearly killed myself but didn't really care. The pills were A1.

austingtir, Mar 11, 3:23am
QUESTIONS: When you see the damage on the bike how did you get away with only a broken wrist and few ribs!
What kind of power you looking at getting Glenn!

Continued:
Sheer bloody luck. I remember everything up until I actually hit the roundabout. I remember being a meter above the motorcycle (which was also in the air) and then it was blackness. Because the roundabout had literally just been built all the trees had been bulldozed for about 15m all around so I guess I was just lucky there was nothing close to hit. If it hadn't been for the broken wrist I would have been able to drive myself to the hospital. All of my work mates are medical trained and through sheer luck an ambo was driving to work and arrived at the scene within 5 minutes. The ambulance was 10 minutes after that and I was in the local hospital within 25 minutes of the accident. I am literally on borrowed time.

I'm not after a power figure but I do want to get close to 400kph. I actually decided pretty early to just go for sensible power and out of the three piston options (standard forged, low compression forged or 1400cc low compression forged) I decided to the low compression. "They" say that you can only really run standard compression pistons at 6psi without water injection so I decided to use the low compression pistons and give myself the option for more boost should I ever want more power. It may be a megaslug off boost but I have a bit of a plan for that.

trogedon, Mar 11, 3:24am
Like a fine wine.my bike needs to 'cure' for a few years before I put it back together. That's my story and I'm sticking with it.

stockyz, Mar 11, 3:31am
180 kph 2 up on a cb900, matata straights than an xd falcon drove past like we were standing still.
