Possibly true, but then again some ppl simply use/choosewhatever vehicle suits the job they need it for.
I have my 88 Surf because it was cheap, IS reliable / tows easily whatever I hitch up/ minor dents don't care/ easy to maintain/ ppl generally stay out of my way because THEY WILL come out worse in an accident (yes it's fully insured). "looks" like a beaten up bush pig to some ppl but I SEE a vehicle that deserves to be looked after because it looks after me.
