As a kid I would lie in bed listening to the steam trains climbing the incline. The steady chug-chug-chug occasionally broken by a bit of wheel spin on an icy track. Now thats a sound you don't hear anymore

yes was out on saturday am when we passed the crossing on portage rd where i spotted a couple of oldies with cameras, made my daughter pull over jumped out in time to see a steamer pass threw what a smell , now thats power, steam power bueatifull

Your correct there, old traction engines have more pulling power than flash new tractors. Possably not as comfortable to spend a day on tho.

A hard working Jag sure does it for me, long incline up to my place, at night, window down while slowly stretching its legs up to that mighty ton, ahhh I am spent.
