Oil filter price gouging.

peric, Mar 23, 9:17am
I had noticed thatprices have been increasing over the last few months however did not expect to pay $28.12 plus after a 25% discount for a Rico Z632 from Repco today. Was told the normal price is $37. Called into Super Cheap Auto and the exact same filter had a shelf price of $25.20, (25.29 online) and have since found they retail at $16.40 in Australia and their online prices are as low as AU$9 which is about NZ$11. So what gives!

Correction. Was charged $28.12 including GST not plus.

There is a huge gap in the market, you better start a shop and sell them!

Did they force you to buy it!

intrade, Mar 23, 10:37pm
probably the fact that they are like supermarketsmaking prices like they want its way worse for electrical stuff. I went to get some things asked for discount got 15%next day i needed some moregot 30% then returned and needed 1 more item and got 88% discount. it seems they can play god with the discount ruler charge what ever they want and give as mutch or little discount as they feal like. They would be out of buisness in europe 100 times. but hey here you can do that as everyone just pays up

Yep oil and air filters are a huge rip off here. I'll be getting mine from the UK for half the price (including the shipping).

brokebloke1, Mar 24, 3:40am
with ANY filter I still change my oil AND filter at 5000kms always have all aways will cheap insurance on the motor once had a falcon motor run to 600000kms by doing this it blew a head gasket but it still looked as new inside

unbeatabull, Mar 24, 5:08am
Funny thing is, most filters aren't at full efficiency till around half of their service life. A filter designed for 15k isn't filtering to its full efficiency till around 5k on the clock. (Same goes for Air Filters, Fuel Filters etc)
