It is not a 'good' tyre, I did a google search and it got a two star rating out of five.
If your elderly husband just tootles off down to the shops and doesnt do much open road driving then it will probably be ok. The best thing that can be said for them is that they will be better than his worn out tyres.

Unfortunately with tyres you tend to get what you pay for at the cheap end of the market.

I have never heard of that brand. I would say Iif you can afford to pay more. In fact pay as much as you can afford. When it comes to tyres you really do get what you pay for. Those 4 hand print sized bits of contact rubber are all that's keeping you on the road.

stick to mainstream brands like Bridgestone, kumho, goodyear, Dunlop etc

Thank you budgel and monaro, yes he just tootles down the shops. Yes true, you get what you pay for. I guess I was being tight and hoping $120 x 4 would be agood deal, thank you.

Does he have no legs ?

jills3, Jan 6, 4:58pm
yes has legs, just waiting on a knee replacement.

Jills- First of all is that the size tyre he needs?
A smaller size ie 14 or 15 inch will be cheaper OR you get a better tyre for your money.
The quality of the tyre grip wise probably doesn't matter very much to you at all. However what might matter is that as a rule Ive found the cheapies don't seem to last as long so end up costing the same sort of money as the expensive tyres.

Kingstar SK10 are great tires for the money. i have set on our people mover and on my mums swift. nice quiet tire with a good ride and acceptable wet weather grip

remember you will need to get them fitted and balanced so just as good a deal will be found at a reputable tyre dealer with good advice to suit.

My vote goes to kingstar.

You need to read it before posting that.

I use kingstar sk70 in competiton, they actually make a great all-round autocross tyre and can handle a bit of abuse on sealed motorkhanas. For a cheap road tyre they are the ones I would be getting for sure. Price was like $90 each for 14" so expect a bit more for your size.

There are cheaper ones out there I put 4 Windforce 215-60-16 on my car $99 each fitted & ballanced

Google off down to bridge stone and ask for a price on a Tyre called supercats, good Tyre and not expensive.

fordcrzy, Jan 8, 12:40am
Id buy the kingstars over supercats any day. had supercats and the ride was wallowy and indirect. the sk10 is a better tire

Have supercats on my car. No issues, brother recommnded them. He runs them on his work ute and a lot of the other work vehicles. Mine are 17's though. Had them 2 years and around 30,000km.
