0-60mph stat's don't tell the whole story as electric vehicles are very quick from a standing start as maximum torque is available from the instant the 'throttle' is depressed, silently. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgN60FrsY2Q

only heard it off the you tube clip and never thought about it being put in a car but a v8 evinrude 300xp in a drag car
hard to beat the sound of 8000 to 10000Hp worth of top fuel drag engine and fort hose lucky enough to have in the flesh experienced a TF motor, the feeling of the air around you moving and your internal organs being massaged is all part of the "noise" as such. Seeing a nitro virgin jump when they bang the throttle in the pits during warm up is funny let alone seeing people just about shit themselves when a pair of these monsters floor it on the green light. Its an experience that video or audio cant do justice you have to be there in the flesh.

I was at Pukekohe with my dad - Jan '58 I think. Heard the BRM V16, a lot of attention on the PA system, but not much running. It may have done one or two laps, but the sound was unmistakable.

I remember the Refrigerated freight trucks with screaming Detroit's that used to go up the Te Kuiti hill in the early hours of the morning, awesome sound on a cold winters night

only one ever like that, a Veitnam import, Standard TS 24's had a inline 6-71 in the front and in line 6-110 in the rear or English ones had a Cummin's option, (2 in NZ)

Foden two stroke stock truck and trailer used to go past our house empty on sale days at about 4am. A long downhill run into town and a whole row of downshifts to go round the 90 degree bend in the middle of town followed by windups pulling out of town again. The weeks excitement in Te Karaka :)

And where did this Vietnam special work in NZ? Best you check your facts, some even had 8V71's front and rear, it possibly would depend if they are a "A" "B" or a "C".
Well the one i was thinking off was in Tauranga and I operated it for a short time.
