Except these aren't the bits that wear out in a car, it's the bits that get hot and require lots of maintenance. Cars die due to engines and gearboxes wearing out. The electronics are amazingly robust in general. Sure the odd sensor goes, but in comparison to mechanical failures it's tiny. Also electronics failing are annoying but usually not critical, e.g. the passenger side electric window in my 91 Terranno hasn't gone for at least 7 years.
