Ford Ranger Lighting question, re park lights

gunhand, May 30, 8:35am
When you exit these late model utes with motor off the park lights go on ( i assume there the park lights) and don't appear to go off in a short time, as I thought they would. Now i'm opening doors leaving them open to work on and around them so is there a turn it off switch somewhere? I did find that you can flick the right stalk backwards and forwards and it turns it off, but then you open and close it again and bloody lights are all on, as are dash lights.
Somewhat annoying and battery flattening feature. Tried twisting turning pushing and kicking most buttons etc but to no avail.
So, is there a turn off?

A lot of the guys at my work have got them; I think they are wired to glow like xmas trees 24 / 7.
Park lights, interior lights etc etc.
