We used Apex at the airport when we were down there last - no problems - may not be the cheapest though?.

Avis - liked how we signed up online and when we arrived they just gave us the keys, no paper work - good pricing

Agreed. I think many get sucked into the "cheapie" places and think they are paying way less than the premium ones.

To true in my experience - 60 bucks a day in aussie for 2014 sv6 dunnie Got the Avis preferred card now so can just be handed the key where the cars parked. (in most places)

I've been a preferred customer with Avis for years, have had no problems. Even had a few upgrades at no extra cost. I hire one every two months when I visit Auckland. Competitive prices.
