Audi W8

Here's a laugh.

Mate came around just before Xmas and said someone he knows just came back from Aucks with a real flash Audi that he had picked up for a song. Pretty sure it was a Private sale too!

I jokingly said bet its a POS and will cost him lots.

2 days later mate rings me to say that the Audi is making some really funny noises.

Now tells me that his friends car is still in the garage (a month) as its dumped its cam gear etc.

I'm stil p'ing myself!

Why do you take pleasure from someone elses misfortune?

The fact that YOU didn't buy it should be enough satisfaction.

Also Audi does not make a W8 car as far as I know.

You may well be correct.

If that's the case what the hell did the guy buy? Whatever has gone wrong with whatever it is requires an engine out and lots of expensive parts. The new owner wants the seller to pay for the work. Seller, quite rightly, is saying nah.

Seems mighty odd to me that within 500km of change ownership engine has a very expensive 'maintenance' issue arise.

As for "misfortune". I don't agree. It was just plain utter stupidity on the part of the guy who bought an expensive complex euro in 5 mins with no PPI or any other due diligence.

It might have been an A8, they sometimes have a W12 engine in them. That might be where the confusion is.

Must have been a VW Passat W8? (similar to Audi A6)
