hi my 07 petrol triton motor continues to rev when i change gears , the revs do come down if you wait a few seconds, is this a computer problem or sensor related, thanks

I am interested to know this too, my 2012 2.5 diesel has started doing this on up shifts since the last service too, I thought possibly it was an update or something as I swear it has less turbo lag now.
Do you know if the petrol uses an electronic throttle? I wonder if they get a bit laggy when you lift off for up shifts? That is what it feels like in mine anyway.

my 3.2 diesel does the same but only seems to do it when cold

At 8 years old now the throttle plate probably has some build up of muck around it and the idle stepper motor is at max opening adjustment. I would try clean out the throttle body and reset the base idle speed - it might help.
