I've seen compressor oil on the shelf at Repco.

Repco compressor oil = $40 per litre.

BNT compressor oil = $20 per litre.

Those off the shelf oils tend to be for rotary compressors for some odd reason ( http://www.supercheapauto.co.nz/online-store/products/Gulf-Western-Compressor-Oil-1-Litre.aspx?pid=105583#Recommendations ). I see that sc says its for direct drives.

Found some info from Paslode for their direct drive comp: "Use SAE30 weight non-detergent compressor oil"

To be sure I'd visit a compressor shop and buy it there.

My direct drive came with a bottle which is helpfully labeled "oil"

Bunnings and M10 used to have it as well but dont know at what price. Nor do I know how it matches up spec wise either.

So have I, and it stayed on the shelf too. SCA do a Gulf Western one for half the price.

Thought it might be SAE 30 thats what was in my old belt drive comp but it ran slower speed of course . see what SC have ta .
