I have a customer that has a van done 200,000 and its broken a crank. he has decided not to fix it.I was curious to see if this has happened to others, pretty major thing to happen to a modern engine, its been serviced regularly. He drove it to Wellington ,motoring along just out of Wellington,it rattled and the engine stopped,he thought the clutch had collapsed. he could feel it through the pedal, towed back to Hyundai and its broken the crank.

is this a manual transmission? if so does it have a solid mass flywheel conversion?

yes manual . I wouldn't know whether its had the flywheel changed.

can you find out? because some use a dmf as the harmonic balancer also. when you change to solid mass then you have a chance to brake the crank shaft . ford transit are the only other make i know off braking shafts at 250.000km Would also be interesting to know where it broke the saft exactly . Also if it was chip tuned would be interesting to have all facts.

The Japanese sorted these problems decades ago.
