just wanting a couple of opinions, who thinks this would be a good investment?

floscey, Apr 25, 2:43am
77 coupe , yep .

Pretty iconic vehicle.
Limited edition, last of the body shape, race pedigree (sort of) and they look pretty good. I would say yes.

Depends on what you end up buying one for.
Can't see the price of Classic Australian Muscle Cars go back to their record high before the GFC anytime soon.

Are you talking an old falcon or the modern BF2 cobra?

rd1rutland, Apr 25, 4:12am
its 2007 cobra

monaro17, Apr 25, 4:19am
They are a still very expensive to buy at the moment so to see any real return on your investment it would need to be long term

but yes i would say it would be a good investment

so why have 2 so called collectors cashed out so quickly

gman35, Apr 25, 8:05am
Even as a "Ford man" if anything , these were a bit of a use up the parts special that had no relation to any type of racing at all , unlike the original aussie cobra coupe. So are interesting for those looking for a variety of a modern Falcon GT , but certainly won't be an investment compared to even a bank deposit.

I thought you meant the iconic coupe.

gman35, Apr 25, 8:13am
The steering wheel in them looks horrible ! I guess would cost too much to design something unique for a "GT" with the controls etc on it still , but it just screams base taxi spec. !

anarot, Apr 25, 8:50am
And so did I.

to pay a 25K + fine wold be my guess hence a quick sale and sold to a dealer

rd1rutland, Apr 25, 10:03pm

I had a 77 cobra coupe in OZ years ago ( wish I had it now ) basically couldn't give the dam thing away sold it for about $5000 '''OH if only for forsight" was only a 302 not a 351

there was an orange one on the dock of lyttelton in christchurch earlier this year and i got a photo of it

my thoughts 2,the dealer wouldn't be doing anyone a favour and as far as being collectable now truth is theres bound to be a better example out there with out the storybook of ownership and would have to be a 20 year ownership to be worth it
