Yes they are very reliable, seems to be the way trans are going, seen them wit h very high km no problems, servicing is the key as with all the late model stuff.

None of them are really old enough to say for sure.

But I suspect the later Toyota ones will hold up pretty well.

What are the servicing requirements of CVT transmissions? I've heard they should not be flushed like a regular auto trans.

Too new to know but it does seem latest cvt are much better. Someone here reviewed their new Corolla with cvt and loved it.
Not fair to say this is how they're all going. Most euro cars are going to DCT boxes but they are more expensive so japs seem to be going cvt route.

The last couple of cars I have hired have been Corollas. The old slush box was awful, the new one a big improvement. Still a very dull car though.

The TOYOTA CVT isn't showing up any more issues than a standard slushbox. Servicing is required every 60k rather than 100k.
