Drive it, cheap flight back.

Or Jeffs transport.

Drive it. Ferry is the most expensive part

Just brought one up on jeffs from dunners $800. But that was mates rates. Crossing the ditch is expensive doing it yourself as were flights.

Might have to sell it down in Canterbury instead of bringing it up North to sell.

Captain Transporter (captaintransporter.co.nz) says 875.15 including GST excluding insurance.

They are a middle-man but they will almost certainly give you a better price than going direct to Jeffs etc (probably by a long way).

You could try Toll rail transport, but don't bother emailing them, they will only deal with you over the phone.

Ferry, about $250.
Air Fare, about $200.
Depending on vehicle, maybe $120 for fuel
Accommodation and food - $50 to $250.

Can be less than a transporter, how much is over to you.

I would drive it. If you're flexible with your travel arrangements, you can get a ferry booking for one person and a car for $174.00 one way. Cheap airfares can be obtained if you spend a bit of time looking through the likes of Grab a Seat and just finding a cheaper flight regardless of time etc. Also generally there are heaps more cheaper airfares out of Auckland than Hamilton, so if you can get up there for a reasonable price that is worth a look. For a reasonable outlay you get a couple of days out and get the job done.
