both solid reliable cars. IMO the Toyota is more comfortable to live with day to day and the Civic is a tadd more sporty

I like the reliability of the Honda's. Had a 95 integra which I bought in 2001 . it had 50k on it when I bought it - sold it 15 yrs later at 312k. Still going strong as. Hubby's drive to work car is a 2001 civic we bought in 2008 @ 25k now done 150k, runs like a dream.

Whichever fits you better and tickles your fancy. Not any great difference between them so personal preference. I'd Honda because Corolla is simply too boring.

Corolla, no question.

Both 2017 the Civic hands down.
The Civic was brand new then, the Corolla had been out for years so is quite dated. Do be aware the Civic is a much larger car - comparing hatches it's like 250mm longer and 40mm wider

another vote for the 2017 Civic. The latest model is a large step up from the old and will be current model for a few years yet. Where as the Corolla is 2012 technology and an all new model arrives early next year.

Rented a late model Corolla and was surprised when the sun visor disintegrated. The interior was very plastic and cheap, much like earlier models.
