Hi I'm just watching Americana and they bought a Gurney Westlake engine from New Zealand for a Dan Gurney designed and built eagle race car,How on earth did it get here?.

Apparently there may be one in Motueka, near Nelson.
A lot of supposed GW 'engines' are ordinary Ford blocks with GW heads.

It's Weslake, not Westlake guys. Harry Weslake. The V12 Gurney-Weslake Eagle was probably the nicest looking car of the era.

At the Petersen Museum in Hollywood, they had a Dan Gurney/Eagle exhibition last year.

But to answer OP's question. Sorry, no idea!

The Gurney heads from memory weren't that flash. The V8 heads were a done pretty much by Harry himself and usually have Weslake embossed on the rocker covers . The old PDL Mustang had these heads and pretty sure a Lucas FI system

It's my opinion that Arkos Duntov ( ARDUN ) and Harry Weslake both stole / used the idea of push rod semi hemi from Peugeot
