Well as far as I know and hear is it's so difficult for farmers to claim it that they also mostly don't bother. I know for a fact that I had to pay Ruc on my farm Regis Hilux as I was told there was no such thing as a exemption by who ever the thugs in government was at the time. So I removed the promoter wire quicksmart out of the farm truck to stop it clicking up more miles to pay the thugs.

If its a commercial boat with petrol engines then yes it is possible to claim back the RUC component of the government.

Its not hard at all to claim back the RUC component from petrol for farmers and you could claim back the RUC from a diesel off road if your paying it.

Assume you are talking about the Auckland fuel tax.

If that is the case, then the only option is to go out of Auckland for your fuel.

The government initially promised rebated would be available for off road vehicles, but backed out, and excluded non-commercial use.
