your standard 2500kg "domestic" trailer runs the exact same tyres as your "commercial" 2500kg trailer. i don't know of any 4 ply ~800kg trailer tires.

i think hes referring to the common 195/50R13 low profile trailer tire which are a 90 psi max tire. 80 psi is reasonable if running near max weight of the tire.
downside of using those tires is the tire has almost no flex so your relying on the suspension to work well, and that they are small overall diameter so they hit the bumps pretty hard. they won't work well with stiff suspensions.
but they have a big advantage in low deck height and still fit reasonable sized brakes inside the rims.

the boat tows mint no problem at all and they are 8 ply tyres

Thats interesting because most 6x4 domestic trailers are made with 1ton capacity springs.
2500kg would be tandem trailer weights

thats not the point. its a weight for weight comparison of a common standard size that both home owners and businesses use.
