That guy is a car broker who drives a mitsi ute and a Santafe and any talk against his favorites gets rubbished at nauseum. Real Honest opinions Yea right.

Mine just got totaled and i miss it already. Well still waiting on assessors but being hit by a truck at speed certainly does some damage.

Gosh that's terrible. I hope you didn't suffer any injuries? Or the other driver? But yeah ours was old school and totally enclosed in the back so made a great tradie van. No tools on display! He's been looking at the new ones but hard to get the barn doors etc.

Yip it hurt. extremely violent crash as i was stand still to warp speed and into the car in front of me. Can not express how violent it was in words.

A lot of it comes down to how big OP wants. Nv200 vs iLoad / Transit Connect vs Transit / Sprinter etc.

Current hiace kind fits between the iLoad and sprinter in terms of size.

Another big factor is if one wants glass in the rear, or a panel van, and if barn rear doors are needed. Such features are standard on some vans, optional on others, and not offered in some cases.

One big advantage of the Transit connect & Renault Traffic / Misti Express is that they come from a the factory with a solid cargo barrier. Something I consider essential from both a safety and comfort perspective. (driving a van with an unlined room in the rear, and no barrier, in mid summer is not a nice experience. - On something like an iload it is a cost option.

iload is getting pretty dated now, but has had some sweet features added like a locking differential. Personally I quite like driving them. They are the the sweet spot of being fairly big, but still fitting in many covered car parks etc. Also the turning circle is very good and I like RWD.

A frount engine Hiace will likely have the lowest depreciation as it is a fairly new release and it has a toyota badge.

The transit connect is the flashest, offering features like HID headlights & so on.

When a person makes their living ie derives their income wholey and soley by cutting other peoples lunches I take their word on anything with a huge grain of salt.

obviously you did not watch the video. there is a lot of facts like the renault traffic with a mitsubishi badge has 3 stars and the iload would get 0 stars as per cadogan. He also hates vw but thats not the point. the point is ancap is total nonsense, what the real point is------> .

Owned transits expensive , toyota, Mitz all cost heaps, current van LDV G10 petrol turbo, goes like a cut cat, no issues and the savings in purchase price make it a good buy at 30k +GST, no sign of rust but who cares, it will see me out, does the job and has exceeded expectations, had it sideways on the winter ice at speed and it handles ready well. big plus - it's rear wheel drive

Just looked it up. 165kW & a 6 speed auto. Must go really well. Is the rated 11.7L/100km realistic in the real world?

Of course might not matter if OP isn't doing big distances.

I have watched the whole video and the Mitsi still deserves the bad rating. I do agree the ANCAP star rating has become a sham.

Once upon a time, I watched all of his videos as they were generally quite accurate. I haven't watched them for years now because they have got long winded and rather boring.
This one was no exception. 26 minutes to tell a 5 minute story although, once again, he is quite correct.
