Does anybody else think its odd you cant enter the new motorway to go south from halswell junction rd? With that new big roundabout before you go over the new bridge when coming from halswell, cant have been that hard to have put an onramp there? First place you can enter to go south is at the new shands rd bridge when its finished, and you cant get off it coming back into town from rolleston untill shands rd or then its curletts rd? Weird

NZTA geeks' wonderful designs? Up in Rotorua they have installed a slip lane to bypass (?) a small roundabout on SH30 on the eastern side of town. It exits onto a dual carriageway which extends for only about two car lengths before narrowing into one lane, just before a pedestrian crossing. And a new roundabout at the southern end of town (SH5) has a reverse camber and varying radii which has already caught out two laden logging trucks. And in the middle of that roundabout is going to be planted a huge sculpture (made of biodegradable plastics!) and of enormous cost to the ratepayers, to distract drivers from their responsibilities.
