Engine 2.5 litre specifications state towing up to 2000 kg. Has anyone bought and have used to tow a caravan? If so what size caravan and would you recommend?

Would you tow something heavy with a cvt gearbox? Imo not often.

has a tow rating of 2000kg though and is new so should be upto job

But isn’t that the point?
You don’t tow the caravan that often.
At least we didn’t, maybe twice or three times a year at most.

A near 2T caravan is simply too much for that sort of power/torque. A near 2T boat would be ‘ok’ but caravans create that much more drag that whatever you have on the back feels magnified. While Subaru are confident it can handle that weight I would not strap that much weight on the back

As said, not too often. Though why pay all that money for only a few weeks year use is beyond me but each to own.

I wouldnt use any Subaru for towing long term, you'll kill it. If you want to flick it on after three years then go ahead. It would be interesting to know what their official tow pack consists of and how they plan on enhancing engine and transmission cooling, most modern cars are only marginal in that area to start with, especially Asian passenger cars.
