is this a known problem in the later 2013 --> models , have read some used reviews saying they have an inherent short life span , ?

Sure is a known problem. Poor quality bearings used within them is the most common reason for failure

Yes they are crap. My parents one (2016 pulsar) made it to 65,000k before it crapped out. Nissan replaced it for free.

Are you looking at sedan or hatch? Different beasts and a sedan might not be cvt.

Most modern Bic disposable type cars are designed with an inherent short life span.

By "pulsar" what vehicle are you talking about ? Nissan Pulsar sedan ? Nissan pulsar Lift back/hatch back ? If lift back which engine ? Not being a smart alec here but they are different vehicles

NZ new pulsar , lift back 1600cc turbo , STs / SSS .

I THINK (as in I believe not I know) that Nissan screwed up wit that one. The transmission internals were t fine with the 1200cc-1500cc cars but the 1600 turbo was a bridge too far.
